Approximately 25% of Pennsylvania drivers are 65 or older. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recognizes the importance of Safety for our aging drivers. As Pennsylvania’s population ages, more people will be on the roads. PennDOT wants to make sure that older drivers have the cognitive abilities, physical abilities, and visual abilities to make things safer. While growing older does not necessarily constitute a safety risk, older drivers and their families should take the necessary precautions.
